The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) organized a virtual meeting on the “Latest Developments in the AfTIAS 2.0 Program” on May 28, 2024. The meeting was attended by the program’s focal points from Arab countries.
Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, CEO of ITFC and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program, chaired the meeting and welcomed the focal points. He emphasized the Arab states’ contribution to the program, particularly in promoting sustainability.
The meeting aimed to provide a brief overview of the projects’ objectives and status, the main areas they cover, the delegation of authority mechanism for managing the AfTIAS 2.0 program, the organizational structure, and the progress of project implementation.
The meeting outcomes included agreed-upon actions by all AfTIAS 2.0 focal points to enhance program performance, achieve each project’s milestones and deadlines, identify potential risks and mitigation strategies, and assign roles and responsibilities for all project phases and activities.
By the end of the meeting, Eng. Hani Sonbol urged the focal points to reinforce the consensus reached on the program’s goals, priorities, and strategies.
